Simon Hall reports on real life crimes, while creating a few imaginary ones of his own. His day job is as a BBC TV Crime Correspondent, but in his spare time he’s also an author of detective fiction.
Following the old adage write what you know, Simon's books are about a television reporter who covers crimes and gets so involved in the cases he helps the police to solve them. Five have been published, and they've become known as the tvdetective series.
Memorable moments from Simon's career include finally discovering the secret memorial to the late poet laureate Ted Hughes on Dartmoor, being sent into London to cover the 7/7 suicide bomb attacks, and reporting on the wonder of the total eclipse of 1999.

Linda began writing articles about tropical fish in 1990, gradually switching to fiction from 1997. She now writes full time. Her main markets are Take a Break/Fiction Feast, Woman's Weekly, My Weekly and The Weekly News. Linda has won short story competitions, as well as organizing and judging her own competitions. She has a monthly column in Writers Forum called Short Story Success.
Linda used to do a lot of fillers i.e. tips, letters and photos, and still does this every now and then for fun. She has tried novels and radio without much success, but has had several stories published in anthologies. She belongs to Leeds Writers Circle and Leeds Savages and is also on Twitter.

Ann is author of Writing & Imagery - How to deepen creativity and improve your writing, with a Foreword written by our Chairman, Dr Xanthe Wells. While serving on the committee in 2006, Ann initiated the TopWrite project, which brought seventeen young people to the School, including Xanthe herself. Ann is a long-term Swanwicker who has taught creative writing and horse-riding (the two Rs, she couldn't manage 3) all her life.

Roz Southey is a novelist and musicologist living in the north-east of England. She is the author of the Charles Patterson mysteries, a series of detective novels set in Newcastle upon Tyne and published by Crème de la Crime (now an imprint of Severn House); the fifth novel in the series will be published in March 2011. Her short stories have won a number of competitions; one was published in The Mammoth Book of Best British Crime (ed. Maxim Jakubowski, 2009) and another will appear in the 2011 version of the same collection. She has also published non-fiction books and articles, including local and family history, and academic papers.
