Warning: this talk contains a short, hairy crayonboy making a fool of himself.

    Michael O'Byrne - MONDAY

    The Unprepared Surviving the Unexpected

Michael has run a number of very successful workshops at Swanwick on crime investigation and policing from a writer’s perspective. He was a police officer in Hong Kong, London, Thames Valley and ended up as chief constable in Bedfordshire. One of has ambitions on retiring was to become a writer and he has published two books on police and crime, one an academic study of policing, the other the result of running a workshop at Swanwick. He also has two e-published thrillers on Amazon, which he preferred to the alternative of holding a publisher hostage.

He will be reflecting on thirty 'odd' (in both senses) years of policing, providing proof absolute that, as always, truth is so much stranger than fiction ever could be.

A police officer from the age of 19 serving in the Royal Hong Kong Police, The Met, Surrey, Thames Valley and Bedfordshire, retiring as chief constable.
